technology, providing briefs as required • Seek out new funding and partnerships for decarbonisation – including the production of high quality capital funding bids • Commission and analyse environmental and energy efficiency audits of our building stock • Develop detailed carbon management plans and net zero road maps and ensure their realisation as an intelligent client • Establish a pipeline of credible projects which are likely to involve: decarbonising our heat and power plants and systems,

and develop relationships, providing data and information to inform decisions as necessary, showing appropriate sensitivity when needed. • Persuade, influence and negotiate as appropriate to further the objectives of the University 5. Details of the key responsibilities • Act as an institutional expert, thought leader and advisor on decarbonisation • Horizon scan for changes in legislation and

expanding renewable production and installing electric vehicle and other forms of sustainable transport infrastructure • Develop design guides, performance specifications and standards for the construction of new buildings and the refurbishment or retrofitting of existing ones, from both a climate change prevention and adaptation perspective • Act as statutory consultee and subject matter expert regarding decarbonisation improvements to capital projects and master plans

• Work with colleagues to make plans to reduce our direct digital and laboratory emissions • Deputise for the Head of Sustainability as and when required - – including briefing senior leaders, meeting with key stakeholders and participating in relative steering groups. • Carry out any other duties that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed This Job Description sets out current duties of the post that may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed.
