Tim Thomas learned to cook BBQ from his father growing up in Florida, and his mother and grandmother taught him the rest. Those lessons have given way to some of the best BBQ side dishes this side of the Mississippi, all served up with smoky, fall-off-the-bone meat mains, from pulled pork to brisket. Thomas opened Sweet Southern Smoke BBQ in Sabraton last fall after several successful pop- up cooking events convinced him he could make a go of it.
