A winsome and winning appeal for your BOM vote.
W e love Best of tition, the surprises. Now in its second decade, BOM has become a Morgantown institution. You can tell by the “We’re the BOM” stickers all over town and the BOM-season “Vote for Us!” bill- boards. I laugh every time I look at the social media appeal above, and there are lots of other sincere and hilarious ones inside. Morgantown—the excitement, the friendly compe- For BOM22, we swapped five useful new categories in—stand- ing firm as always at 101—in- cluding Best Auto Body Shop and Best Funeral Home, and we re-introduced Best BBQ and Best Car Wash / Detailing. When almost 1,700 nominees had been whittled down to 439 finalists, then 106 winners, including ties, we had the mix of outcomes we consider healthy: • longtime defenders holding their ground—Best Tattoo Studio, for example, and Best Dry Cleaner; • possible new dynasties in the making—Best Pizza? Best Hair Salon?; • continuing back-and-forth rivalries, like Best Festival and
