BEST MUSIC VENUE 123 Pleasant Street 2021 has proven to 123 Pleasant Street owner L.J. Giuliani that live music is essential. “People are hungry for it,” he says. “We had probably the biggest summer we’ve ever had.” Asked what makes 123 Morgantown’s Best Music Venue year after year, Giuliani says it’s the location’s 40-year history as an eclectic, community-oriented music spot. We say it’s also the three-room nightclub’s mix of edgy and comfy, its great beer, and the all-genres-, all-ages-loving hearts of the people who make it tick. BEST PLACE TO TAKE THE KIDS Aquatic Center at Mylan Park The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park opened in November 2019 and quickly became a local favorite. It serves not only the WVU Swim and Dive Team but the Morgantown community as well with a 50-meter olympic-sized pool, a 17-foot deep-diving well, a community pool with zero-depth entry, a six-lane lap pool, and an outdoor splash pool. Programs throughout the year keep kids of all ages active and engaged. The center hosts Learn to Swim for all levels taught by highly qualified staff, summer-long kids’ camps, and even a Parents’ Night Off that gives kids a few hours of fun while the adults take a break. As a newer facility in the area, it has quickly endeared itself to the community and to BOM voters. 1847 Fitness Way, 304.933.2782,, @mylanpark on FB
