Morgantown Running tied BOM’s long-time Best Place to Buy Shoes winner this year, and owner Heather Cleary couldn’t be more excited. Cleary is a Grafton native who ran track at Alderson Broaddus University before moving to Morgantown with her husband. She went to college with the shop’s previous owners and purchased the shop from them in 2012. “Running was on the rise at the time, and it worked out well for us. Business is good, and we just opened a second location in Bridgeport.” You’ll find a vast selection of high-quality athletic shoes designed for walkers, runners, and anyone who spends long periods of time on their feet. Morgantown Running also offers the experience that Cleary and her staff have gained through their own running lifestyles. The shop puts on three road races each year: the Morgantown Running 4 on the 4th, the Halloween Half Marathon, and the 5K Turkey Trot each Thanksgiving. 709 Beechurst Avenue, 304.241.5223, morgantownrunning.com, @morgantownrunning on FB
