Side story to tell: A longest-time tradition in Riesa: During the fanfare 3 charming young ladies in red dresses bring the medals placed on green cushions onto the stage. This tradition has been implemented by the former Lord Mayor of Riesa, Mr. Wolfram Köhler already in 1997. And we keep this tradition during all following IDO World Championships in Riesa. It is cult in Riesa! - S ame as the rising of the flags during the winner’s national anthems.
