Nancy Chippendale is the founder and owner of Nancy Chippendale's Dance Studios, located in North Andover, MA, USA, and is celebrating 42 years in business. She is also the founder of the Nancy Chippendale Dance Company, and the American Tap Company. She is also the Vice President of the IDO USA Federation (USDSCF) and has served as captain of the USA Tap Team at the World Tap Championships multiple times and is a World Champion Choreographer for more than 100+ World Champion Dancers. Nancy served as the United States judge at the International Dance Organization’s World Dance Championships in 2005, 2009 and
2010. She has judged the National German Tap Dance Championships and World Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Modern Championships in Germany and Poland. She has been the Chairwoman for the IDO's Tap Dance Department for seven years. Nancy and her family also produce DANCE UNITED which is an international festival and show featuring dancers from over 15 countries. In addition to her international career, Nancy is a full time instructor to students of all ages and levels. Nancy opened her studio doors in 1979 in North Andover, MA, and the rest is history. Several decades later, she has trained thousands of dancers, some flying from around the globe to train from her. Nancy’s passion for dance and teaching has helped her grow her studio into one of the largest and most successful in the country. Nancy has provided numerous performance opportunities for her students in various venues including the United States Presidential Inauguration, McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Boston’s Wang Center, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot Center, as well as appearances in New York City, Hollywood, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans and internationally in Germany, Poland and Malta. Many of Nancy’s alumni have gone on to dance in college and pursue careers performing with top names in entertainment, appearing in music videos, films, television shows and traveling the world on cruise ships and as part of international dance tours. Her dancers have also had careers as choreographers, teachers, studio owners, actors, and models. She is grateful that a number of alumni are on faculty and have made a home for themselves at the studio. Nancy was recently named DANCE TEACHER OF THE YEAR from the StarDance Alliance competing with thousands of dance teachers from across the United States.
