Kira von Kayser is a professional Tap Dancer, Choreographer and Dance Teacher based in Munich, Germany. Her tap dancing career began in Riesa and since this day she likes to go there to meet and greet her tap family and friends. Several times she made it to the finals and now she has the honor of watching her students win medals. Kira started first competing in other dance styles and entered tap competitions as an adult later.
To begin with dancing in a Group and Formation with the “ Fun Tappers ” from Karlsruhe, Germany, she soon became a soloist. When she decided to make tap dancing as her profession, she moved to Munich for an additional dance education at the “ Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance ” . After graduating with distinction she focused again on tap dance and came back to Riesa bringing along her first students with whom later she even had the pleasure to compete together. By now the next Generation of her Tap Team is enjoying the fun of dancing in Riesa. But the competition is only a small part of the magic of Riesa. The most important issue is meeting so many great tap dancers, artists and amazing people from all over the world. So many of them became good friends and no matter what happens in the political world tap dancers all do the Shim-Sham together! The art of tap, the language of rhythm is universal and has no boundaries. This community helped to turn her passion into a profession. Besides teaching and choreographing for others, she performs nationally as well as internationally in shows, concerts and at various festivals. With the former German world champion Bernd Paffrath she performs in a Duo-Act for shows and numerous projects.
