30 years of IDO World Tap dance Championships

My name is Michèle Kitagawa from Berne, Switzerland. I own the Tap dance Studio “absolut TAP” in Berne and today “ BounceTAP “. For us “Riesa” was being in a different world. „absolutTAP” has participated annually from 1997 until 2013. We have truly been successful in the adult’s age group with small groups a nd formations in 2001 - 2007 always in the finals and many medal placings on the pedestral.
- 2006 Gold Junior Small Groups - 2007 Gold Junior Duos (Shyrleen Müller und Moses Gruaz) - 2008 Gold Productions - and this was my last time as an active competitor. - 2012 Gold Junior Trio I have also served as a Team Captain for the Swiss National Team for many years. To put all together in some sentences:
The annual preparations for the IDO World Tap dance Championships in Riesa were an unbelievable intensive and important time of my work as a tap dance coach and choreographer. Each year the Tap world events in Riesa were the high light of the year, instructive, informative and educational - though sometimes disappointing but we had so much fun together with the Swiss tap dance team. This is what I remember so well and so positive. Looking back, the results are not so important as the experience with all the international tap dancers together. I think back to these days with great appreciation and don’t want to have missed them.
