30 years of IDO World Tap dance Championships

It is wonderful to connect with you after all of this time. Thank you for considering me in this project. I have competed as a student with IDO as well as choreographed for many years with Team Canada, both Germany and Poland.
I started tapping at the age of 7 in Ontario Canada. I furthered my tap training with Matthew Clark in Buffalo, New York. I started competing with IDO when I was 16 years old and the event was hosted in Dresden sponsored by Karstadt. The experience was incredible and never in a million years would I ever have dreamt that I would eventually be choreographing at an international level for IDO. I have won the Gold as a team dancer and have choreographed routines that have had the honour of being on the podium. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my experiences competing and choreographing for IDO. Specifically in Dresden where as a young student I was blown away by the level of talent. Dresden offered so many different things, the market, the shops, the beauty. Being new to IDO I was incredibly inspired by the other dancers and teams I saw. Riesa as well provides the same level of talent. When I think of Riesa I think of the quaint town, the lovely Mecure hotel and the wonderful venue to host such a large event. Overall the championships have given me inspiration and drive to become better in teaching dance. I have been blessed to have these opportunities presented by Bonnie Dyer and they have really helped push me as a choreographer. It is so amazing to see different countries compete and meet so many new people. It is a truly humbling experience. I have opened a studio in Waterdown, Ontario Canada called Dancemakerz. I owe much of my success to the experiences that have been given to me from IDO, and Bonnie and I am forever grateful. I took the IDO judges course in Niagara Falls, Canada and passed, but have not judged at the IDO yet.
