IDO International Dance Organization founded in Florence, Italy 1981 by Italy, France, Switzerland and Gibraltar - founded and led by the Executive Secretary, Mr. Moreno Polidori. Today IDO is THE official independent dance sport federation for Performing Arts, Street & Urban Dances and Couple Dances. WADF World Artistic Dance Federation - based in Örebro, Sweden - chaired by the president Mr. Nils Håkan Carlzon (former IDO-president) - working after the concept that competitive dancing is Art

WDC World Dance Council - Formed in Edinburgh Scotland 1950 - today based in London UK - mainly focussed on Amateur and Professional Ballroom and Latin American Dances - Chaired by the President Mr. Donnie Burns - Los Angeles, USA Independent www.wdcdance.com WDSF World Dance Sport Federation - recognized by IOC - based in Lausanne, Switzerland - mainly focussed on Amateur and Professional Standard and Latin American Dances. Lately also organizing “Breaking” at the Youth Olympic Games 2018 - also planned for the Olympic Games in Paris, France 2024. Chaired by the President Mr. Shawn Tay (Singapore) www.worlddancesport.org There are unnumeral continental and world dance entities, some on a not-for-profit basis - most of them are business orientated. Especially in North America and the Anglo Saxon countries there are very successful Performing Arts entities. To my knowledge there is no other independent world federation for Tap dance granting and running world championships under clear rules with educated and professionally trained judges with more than 30 countries world-wide from all continents sending their dancers to compete.
