NANCY ROLDÁN JOHNSON Board President
Lauren’s case, to a new role on staff. Read more about their important contributions. As part of our commitment to building a reliable resource for strong and effective board leadership, we partnered with BoardLead, a program that connects nonprofits with high-caliber professionals eager to serve as board members. Through this partnership, OCF gains access to skilled, mission- driven leaders and valuable board development opportunities, strengthening our governance capacity and positioning us for long-term success. 2024 marks the first year since OCF’s inception in 1997 that we operate without the full involvement of a founder. While this marks a significant transition, it also underscores our organizational strength and resilience. Thanks to the dedication of our incredible staff and commitment of the board, we successfully realized a 12% gain in outreach over 2023 and reached 102% of our FY 2024 budget, exceeding expectations while making critical investments in capacity building, product development, and outreach initiatives. This year, we also celebrated a truly remarkable milestone: during our year-end fundraiser, we raised 68 scholarships for caring adults who, thanks to the generosity of our donors, otherwise could not afford to attend our trainings. These scholarships are not just numbers—they represent lives changed, communities strengthened, and the ripple effect of empowering individuals to create meaningful connections with the youth they serve. As we look to 2025, we acknowledge the potential for shifts in government funding and the need to remain agile in navigating an evolving landscape. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our partners, and the steady support of our community. Your contributions are instrumental in helping us confidently address future challenges and seize new opportunities to advance our mission.
As we reflect on 2024, it is impossible not to marvel at the incredible momentum and growth we’ve achieved together. The past twelve months have been nothing short of transformative for One Circle Foundation, and I am honored to share the Board of Directors’ highlights with you. Our theme this past year, “Emphasizing Strengths,” perfectly encapsulates the spirit of our journey. The strengths of our staff, board, and community have propelled us into a new chapter, one defined by collaboration, resilience, and a shared commitment to our mission. As part of our strategic planning initiatives, we undertook an exciting and collaborative process to refresh OCF’s vision and mission, ensuring they better reflect our commitment to youth development. This endeavor was a testament to the power of collective effort, blending the voices of our board, staff, and stakeholders to articulate a future that builds on our legacy while expanding our impact. These new statements, our second revision in 25 years, reinforces our dedication to our core values and vision for the future, and they will guide our strategies, programs, and partnerships as we continue to support the adults who work tirelessly to nurture youth development. The board, too, saw meaningful transitions this year with the addition of three new members— Priscilla Martinez, Elise Turcios, and Jacquelyn Smith- Edwards—who bring diverse expertise and fresh perspectives to our work. Their arrival has energized our commitment to governance excellence and strategic oversight. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to four dedicated board members—Norrine Russell, Lauren Perry, Kimberly Selvaggi, and Christina Quaranta— who transitioned from the Board of Directors to valued advisors, lifelong friends of OCF, and, in
