Great Eastern Highway Bypass Interchange— $400m CIVIL, GEOTECHNICAL, ITS, LIGHTING, PAVEMENTS AND STRUCTURAL WGA was engaged as independent design verifier for the Greater Connect Alliance project. The works included the upgrade of Great Eastern Highway Bypass between Kalamunda Road and Roe Highway. The project included new freeway to freeway type interchanges at Roe Highway and Abernethy Road. As part of the scopes, WGA were responsible for verification of five new road bridges, a PSP bridge, two new pedestrian underpasses, noise/retaining walls, road geometry, stormwater drainage, electrical, lighting, and intelligent transport systems. ● Upgrades to the Great Eastern Highway Bypass, including the removal of the existing intersection at Stirling Crescent. ● Upgrades to parts of Abernethy Road. ● Graded separated freeway to freeway type interchanges at Abernethy Road and Roe Highway. ● Lloyd Street Extension including a new bridge over the Helena River.
Oaklands Rail Grade Separation— $214m CIVIL, ELECTRICAL, GEOTECHNICAL, STRUCTURAL, TEMPORARY WORKS AND TRAFFIC WGA undertook the independent design certification which saw the delivery of a new Oaklands station, a new Morphett Road bridge and associated roadworks for the realigned road, a pedestrian bridge at the eastern end of the station, public plazas, utility service relocations, realignment of rail track including and formation, signalling and electrification, landscaping, and an additional 50 commuter car parks. As well as certifying the design, WGA carried out a risk assessment and design compliance review against the contract requirements. Components of the independent design certification included structures and major temporary works, geotechnical matters, traffic modelling, road design, stormwater management and drainage design, pavements, lighting design, electrical and communications for stations, railway track design, rail signalling combined service route design for physical position and civil compliance, and railway electrification design.

Leach Highway/Welshpool Road Interchange Upgrade— $93m CIVIL, LIGHTING AND STRUCTURAL WGA completed the independent design verification for the Leach Highway/Welshpool Road interchange upgrade which consisted of a new roundabout grade separation of Leach Highway at Welshpool Road and a bridge duplication over the existing railway corridor north of Welshpool Road. As independent verifiers for the project, WGA was engaged to verify road geometry, safety barriers, drainage, structures, electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems.
Mitchell Freeway Widening - Hester to Warwick— $190m CIVIL, GEOTECHNICAL, LIGHTING AND STRUCTURAL WGA completed the independent design verification for the Mitchell Freeway southbound widening from Reid Highway to Hodges Drive. The project consisted of verge side widening of the Mitchell Freeway southbound carriageway from Hodges Drive to Reid Highway. As part of this widening, new ramp works were completed at several ramps including Warwick Road, Ocean Reef Road, Hepburn Avenue and Hodges Drive. This also includes smart freeway upgrades for Shenton Avenue, Burns Beach Road, Neerabup Road and Hester Avenue. As independent verifiers for the project, WGA completed verification of road geometry, safety barriers, drainage, structures, geotechnical, pavements, electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems.
