ICPF Partners With SFI To Increase Awareness Of Corrugated Careers The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) announced a new partnership with Project Learning Tree (PLT), an initiative of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI), to increase youth awareness of corrugated packag- ing industry careers. The partnership aims to increase awareness, access, and education about the rewarding green careers in the corrugated packaging industry through the development of educational resources and experiences for educators and guidance counselors working with middle school and high school youth. This comprehensive approach aims to elevate the pro- file of the industry earlier, as students participate in career exploration, planning and development. “The collaboration targets key initiatives for the founda- tion to increase industry exposure and initiate outreach at the high school and middle school level, and it’s a natural fit,” said ICPF President Caitlin Salaverria. “PLT has over 40 years of experience providing high-quality education resources and training for educa- tors, career counselors and families, and ICPF is excited to leverage their expertise and network to ensure more youth are exposed to the many opportunities and benefits that exist from choosing a career in corrugated.”

“We applaud ICPF’s leadership and welcome this op- portunity to partner with the goal of supporting a diverse and resilient workforce in the corrugated packaging indus- try. We look forward to working together to ensure young people learn about packaging sustainability and the diver- sity of green jobs available to them,” said Kathy Abusow, President and CEO of SFI.

As the demand for sustainable, renewable packaging continues to rise, so do the career opportunities within the corrugated packaging industry. ICPF is committed to empowering individuals to find re- warding jobs and lifelong careers in this sustainable and vital industry. Look for more information and resources from the partnership to be announced as they become available.
