Flexo Label Advantage Group LLC (FLAG) was founded in 2010 when its founder, John McKay, saw an opportu- nity in North America for a label buying group, based on his personal experiences with successful buying groups in other printing industry segments. FLAG is an independent- ly owned company, now with more than 140 Members. Last year, Mike Agness, Hybrid Software Executive Vice President, Americas earned the FLAG Brad Brown strate- gic partner award. FLAG’s next member event will coincide with the up- coming Labelexpo in Rosemont, Illinois, in September. Flint Group Hits Sustainability Milestone Flint Group, a global producer of inks and coatings for the printing and packaging industries, has marked another milestone in its sustainability journey by achieving over- all B grades in Climate and Water disclosure through CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), with several A and A- grade performances in core individual areas. CDP is a non-profit organization that grades business- es on their level of transparency in sustainability reporting using scoring from “D-” through “A.” CDP describes a “B” score as indicative of environmen- tal management – these companies have addressed the environmental impacts of the business. Organizations with “A” scoring exhibit leadership and demonstrate best prac- tice in strategy and action. Under the CDP Climate disclosure criteria, Flint Group achieved an A grade in Scope 1 & 2 emissions and an A- grade in Scope 3 emissions.
