Dear Producers, First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to look through our offering for this sale season. Your interest is very much appreciated. We are also very thankful for the support from all customers over the past decade and a half. It’s a privilege that we don’t take lightly. Our growing season for the summer of 2024 started promising but declined rapidly due to the moisture shutting off for the remaining grazing months coupled with intense heat that was unwilling to subside. Fortunately, the cows handled the situation well and were able to maintain condition and breed up in impressive fashion. We weaned the entire calf crop on October first. The cattle in the offering have been on the same growing ration for the duration of the feeding period. Our yearling Angus bulls consist primarily of sons of Sitz Virtue 11710 and Deer Valley Wall Street. There are also a number of exceptional bulls out of our high selling bull from two years ago McLennan Barricade 225. The yearling Hereford bulls of my son Joseph’s are all out of KSU Land Grant 153 ET. The vast majority of the entire offering is the result of our embryo transfer program so there are a number of half, three quarter and full siblings to select from for your breeding program. The entire offering will be marketed in an “Online Only” Auction event through DV Auction which bidding will open on the morning of May 20th and bidding will close on the evening of May 21st. If you have never participated in this type of format before we are hopeful that buyers will find this version of marketing less stressful and user friendly. The format allows customers so much more buying flexibility and control than the traditional public auction model. In addition, the online format allows us to operate within the limitations of our own infrastructure here at home and will be considerably less stressful on the cattle. About the bulls: The bulk of the bulls offered were produced through the use of embryo transfer. We were able to flush successfully 7 donor cows that have a long and proven track record in our program and environment. We opted to flush the donors to either Sitz Virtue 11710 or Deer Valley Wall Street. Virtue was the $120,000 top-selling bull in the 2021 Sitz Fall Sale. Virtue is a powerfully built performance bull that readily transmits that attribute into his progeny. Ranchers will appreciate the notable performance of the Virtue sired calves. Deer Valley Wall Street was a sire chosen for his out cross potential coupled with balance phenotype and balance EPD profile. His progeny are consistent, very balanced and most can be used on heifers.

Sitz Virtue 11710 X McLennan Estrada 891 • Lots 4-13 Estrada 891 is a balanced, highly maternal sound cow that stems from a cow family responsible for producing a number of bulls that have been purchased by registered and commercial breeders alike. She posts a nursing ration of 116. The bulls out of this mating are long bodied, heavy muscled performance cattle. The entire group came in heavy at weaning under less than ideal conditions and exploded on test.

Her volume and dimension could rival many cattle in the breed. This flush was very consistent for type and kind. The bulls are high volume cattle with exceptional muscle expression and are gentle.
