Chapter 3: The Secret Library
The next day, Lily woke up to the soft sounds of chirping birds and the gentle rustling of leaves. She felt a sense of excitement, wondering what new adventure awaited her and Bella. After breakfast, she ran outside to find Bella fluttering around a particularly ancient-looking tree in the corner of the garden.
“Good morning, Bella!” Lily called out. “What have you found today?”
Bella fluttered down and landed on Lily’s shoulder, her wings shimmering in the morning light. “Good morning, Lily! I’ve discovered something incredible. Follow me!”
Lily followed Bella to the base of the old tree. Hidden among its thick roots was a small, weathered door. With a sense of curiosity and anticipation, Lily gently pushed the door open. Inside, a spiral staircase led downward, illuminated by flickering lanterns hanging on the walls.
“Where does this lead?” Lily asked, her eyes wide with wonder.
“To the Secret Library,” Bella whispered. “It’s a place filled with ancient books, forgotten stories, and hidden treasures. Only a few know of its existence.”
With excitement bubbling inside her, Lily stepped onto the staircase and began her descent, Bella fluttering close by. The air grew cooler as they went deeper, and soon they found themselves in a vast underground chamber. The walls were lined with shelves, each packed with books of every size and colour. In the centre of the room stood a large, ornate desk covered in scrolls and maps.
Lily’s eyes sparkled with amazement. “This is incredible, Bella! Look at all these books!”
