Chapter 4: The Mountain of Courage
The next day dawned bright and clear, with the sun shining down warmly on Lily's little town. Eager for another adventure, Lily finished her breakfast quickly and ran outside to find Bella. The butterfly was fluttering near the edge of the garden, where a path led towards the distant hills.
“Good morning, Bella!” Lily called out. “What adventure do we have today?”
Bella landed lightly on Lily’s shoulder, her wings shimmering in the sunlight. “Good morning, Lily! Today, we’re going to climb the Mountain of Courage. There’s a friend there who needs our help.”
Lily’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “The Mountain of Courage? That sounds amazing! Let’s go!”
They set oƯ on the path that led out of the garden and towards the hills. The journey was long and the terrain became steeper as they neared the mountain. But Lily’s excitement kept her moving forward. As they climbed higher, the view became more breathtaking, with lush forests and sparkling rivers stretching out below them.
After hours of climbing, they reached a plateau near the top of the mountain. There, perched on a rocky ledge, was a small, timid dragon named Drago. His scales glinted in the sunlight, but his eyes were filled with fear.
“Hello, Drago,” Lily called out gently. “We heard you needed help.”
Drago looked up, his eyes wide with surprise and a glimmer of hope. “Oh, hello. Yes, I’m so scared. I’m supposed to guard the Mountain of Courage, but I’m afraid of the dark caves and the steep cliƯs. I feel like I’m not brave enough.”
