Celebrate Black History Month with Twin Cities PBS
February is Black History Month, and at Twin Cities PBS (TPT) we are offering programming that celebrates the history, arts, cultures, lives, and experiences of Black communities. In addition to our programming, we invite you to explore these digital storytelling and streaming options. TPT ORIGINALS Minnesota's Black Pioneers – A Collection For decades, TPT has explored the stories, the histories and the contributions of Minnesota's Black Pioneers, men and women who have forever shaped what it means to live here. This collection represents a blend of stories about the people, the places and the experiences that continue to ripple through the present moment. View the curated collection at tptoriginals.com/blackpioneers . Racism Unveiled Racism Unveiled is a digital storytelling project from TPT that aims to call out racism and to highlight how we can pull up this weed once and for all. Their latest digital series That Got Weird pairs audio interviews of Minnesota’s BIPOC community (Black, Indigenous, people of color) with animated characters to depict their experience with tokenism, microagressions and racism in general. View this series, and more digital stories at racismunveiled.org . TPT Passport Use your TPT Passport account to watch content, new and old, that celebrates the Black experience, explores Black history, and shines a light on outstanding Black artists, athletes, and historical figures with shows that educate, inspire, and honor what it means to be Black. Visit tpt.org/blackhistorypassport for more information.
