and never shall be, any redemption provided for the devil and his angels known as demons. Q. Myrtle Point, Ore. — “Could you give me an explanation of Reve lation 12:7 as to when this event actually takes place?” A. This has to do with the arch angel Michael who with his angels fight against th e dragon (the devil) and his demons. The words “war in heaven” are some of the most astounding to be found in the Bible. Of course, God’s forces prevail. This event takes place about the middle of the 70th week of Daniel. It is because the devil has been cast out of heaven to earth, knowing he has little time left, that there is caused such an awful furor and terror. Satan is on the rampage. We need to remember that there are three heavens. This battle ground is not the threshold of the throne of God. The devil’s prin cipality is the second heaven. He has been cast out of the first and is going to be in the second until he is cast out to the earth. Q. Orland, Calif. — “Was the flood world-wide? Also where do dino saurs fit into the Biblical story of creation?” A. We believe that the flood was world-wide and this is based upon what the geological records show. The dinosaurs fit in probably be fore the world became “without form and void,” according to some archaeologists. Some theologians believe that the days of creation had longer indeterminate periods of time between them. We are not dogmatic on these points for no one knows for sure. It would seem, however, that the days of creation mean probably what we know as 24-hour periods. The dinosaurs 19
bringing these events together in an order acceptable to Bible-be- lieving Christians?” A. Yes, there are a number of splendid volumes available, not the least of which is “Why Four Gos pels?” by Dr. Louis T. Talbot, our Biola Chancellor. Keep in mind that there are no contradic tions in the Bible. Anything that may appear so certainly can be explained. Man is the one who brings in the confusion. Another good book is “Perplexing Passages in the Four Gospels” by the late Keith L. Brooks. “The Layman’s Harmony of the Gospels” by Car ter is also helpful. Q. Pueblo, Colo. — "If Lucifer, an angel dwelling in Heaven with God, could fall into eternal con demnation, what right have we to think that we can have eternal salvation if we backslide, particn- larly in the light of Hebrews 6:b- 6 ? ” _ A. Trying to reason things out logically from man’s standpoint, without definite Scripture, is both presumptuous and dangerous. Here is the blessed truth. We have a right to eternal salvation be cause God said so through the Lord Jesus (see John 10:27-30). When by faith we have received the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, God puts us in His family. There is nothing stronger than what we find in Romans 8:29 and 30. One hundred per cent of those pre destinated were called, justified, glorified, and given eternal life. Hebrews 6 :4-6 has no reference to believers. These were those who only had a head knowledge of the truth but never actually took the final step which determines eter nal death or life. Salvation is more than an intellectual comprehension of Christ. But there never was,
