God is that people may be edified and built up in the faith. I Corin thians 13:8 does indicate the need of tongues for a time. The tongues will cease. Study church history carefully to see that after the apostolic age (until modern times) tongues did cease. People who are in favor of tongues for today upon really considering I Corinthians 14 and seeing the place tongues have, almost without exception ad mit they do not generally follow the Scriptural rules. Tongues did accomplish precisely what God in tended for them. In the list of gifts to the church in Ephesians 4 :8-16 neither tongues nor heal ings are mentioned. Q. Nampa, Ida. — “Why do some pastors teach that Christ is on His throne now?” A. Perhaps they base it on Reve lation 2:21- 22. The Lord is going to grant to those who overcome the power and the privilege of sitting with Him on His throne in the millennial kingdom. We would call attention to the promise given us in the first chapter of Luke 1 :32 and 33. Our Lord is going to be given the throne of His human father, David. He does not occupy that throne now. Rath er, He is seated at the right hand of the Throne of God the Father. Q. Portland, Ore. — “How near do you actually believe our Lord’s re turn really is?” A. It could be at any moment; it is certain signs will occur imme diately preceding His com ing. Among these are the return of the Jews to the land of Palestine, wars and rumors of wars, increased im morality, and spiritual apostasy. We can see nothing from Scrip ture that would delay the return of our Lord, except His own in finite, sovereign will.

HE MAKETH NO MISTAKE My Father's way may twist and turn, M y heart may throb and ache. But in my soul I'm glad I know, He maketh no mistake. M y cherished plans may go astray, M y hopes may fade away. But still I'll trust my Lord to lead, For He doth know the way, Though night be dark and it may seem That day will never break I'll pin my faith, my all in Him, He maketh no mistake. There's so much now I cannot see, My eyesight is far to dim But come what may, I'll simply trust And leave it all to Him. For by and by the mist will lift, And plain it all He'll make Through all the way, though dark to me, He made not one mistake. UNANSWERED PRAYER Unanswered yet, the prayers your lips have pleaded, In agony of heart these many years? Does faith begin to fail? Is hope de parting. And think you all in vain those fall ing tears? Say not the Father hath not heard your prayer: You shall have your desire sometime, somewhere. Unanswered yet? Nay, do not say un granted: Perhaps your part is not yet wholly done; The work began when first your prayer was uttered, And God still finishes what He has begun. If you will keep faith's light burning there. His glory you will see . . . sometime, somewhere!
