722 tion, and one evening class. The Christian Endeavorers are to organize a good sized class on Thursdays at 7 o’clock, one hour before prayer meeting. Sunday afternoons, a- small Sunday-school and Bible class have been organized in an outlying section of the city. Efforts are to be made to get an open door at McNeil’s Island for some definite Bible-class work (McNeil’s Island is the Federal Prison). I f plans can be made, there will doubtless be as important a work accomplished at McNeil’s Island as was done at San Quentin. - Just this word concerning San Quentin: Mr. Lauren Hanna, who has done a very important work among the soldiers at the Presidio under the Y. M. C. A., and who is now attending the San Anselmo Semi nary, has gladly accepted the call to the .work among the prisoners and took it up the Saturday before I left for Seattle. I commit him to your fellowship in prayer for the work, and if perchance some one should see this who has some o f the Lord’s money that they do not know where it should go I prayerfully request that you remember Mr. Hanna’s need. He is a
student at San Anselmo, and is -working his way through like many others and is in need o f financial assistance to enable him to pay expenses. Mr. Hanna did an excellent work at the Presidio for upward o f four years, and is eminently qualified to handle the work at San Quentin. * The present plans here at Seattle are to get acquainted with the work this summer, and this fall branch out to cities and towns in the near-by section and eventually to cover the State o f Washington from this base o f action. Before this number is in. the hands o f the friends I shall doubtless have from ten to twelve classes each week, as the present plans include afternoon and evening classes each day if possible. My new address is No. 1016 Boylston avenue, Seattle, Washington. Just this closing thought: I need God’s wisdom and strength perhaps more' here than I did at San Francisco as this work is much larger, and there will be many problems that will need the supernatural wisdom o f God in handling, and I desire His will accom plished. Pray definitely for this work every day.
