Is love a complete victor ? Rom. 8 :37. (3 ) Immutable, vs. 8-13. What texts show the changelessness of God’s' love? •' Jer. 31:3. O f Christ’s love? John-13:1; Heb. 13:8. Is man’s love immutable? Matt. 24:12; Rev. 2 :4. What is essential to fix man’s love? Rom. 12:9 ; 1 Peter 1 :22, 23. What two things must be done to sustain love? Heb. 13:1; Jude 21. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) He who “blows his own trumpet” can­ not, for all his wind, blow the Lord’s. (2) One may know everything, and be nothing.

(3) Faith that could clear Culebra Cut, could not make a “channel o f bless­ ing,” without loye. (4) The profit is not in burning up (v. 3), but in burning out. (5) The charity that suffers long, is the charity that loves deep. (6) Love never faileth; hence, it is a good business to set up in. (7) Time prints the riddles (v. 12) ; eter­ nity will publish the answers. (8) Faith, hope and loye are links' that join the footstool and the throne (Isa. 66:1), love is the metal o f which the three are forged.

vs. 1, 2. “For as touching the minister­ ing to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you. (:):F o r 1 know the for­ wardness of your mind (your readiness), for which I boast of you ( of which I glory on your behalf) to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago, (hath been prepared for- a year past;) and your zeal hath provoked (stirred up), very many (add, of them).” The believers in Corinth had already shown their “readiness” (to be more exact, “eagerness” )- in the matter o f giving, and Pàul was aware o f it and

it seemed superfluous to write to them fur­ ther about the matter. Their eagerness had been so'great that Paul had made men­ tion o f it throughout Macedonia wherever he had gone, telling them that’ Achaia, tlve province in which Corinth was located and o f which it was the center, had been pre­ pared for a whole year.- Their zeal had stirred up the greater part (v. 2, R. V. Marg.) o f the believers in Macedonia prompting them to a similar liberality. However, there was little need o f special incitement in Macedonia, for the believers
