This October, in wild and weathered Queenstown on Lutruwita/Tasmania’s West Coast, a festival unlike any other comes to life. The Unconformity is a celebration of art, place, and people – a deeply immersive event shaped by the town’s history, powerful landscape and enduring community spirit. From 16–19 October 2025, visitors are invited to join artists, musicians, locals, and adventurers for a four-day experience that explores the edge – geographically, culturally and creatively. Set among rust-red hills and dramatic ridgelines, the festival unfolds throughout the Queenstown valley in unexpected spaces and unforgettable ways. The town stirs to life with Crib Road, a gathering on Queenstown’s main street that reimagines the miner’s crib room tradition. The festival version brings together locals and visitors on Queenstown’s main street to enjoy free live music, local food and drink, and a warm sense of reunion. The main stage will come alive with a powerful lineup of genre- defying acts, from legendary Australian rock icons to boundary-pushing hip-hop artists, soulful singer-songwriters, and voices that challenge
and inspire. Afterwards, a late-night speakeasy beckons with DJs and artist cameos, stretching into the wee hours. “We see so many people with ties to the West Coast return home for the festival, along with first-time visitors,” says Artistic Director Loren Kronemyer. “To see the main street full of revellers, dancing and sharing stories, is the heart of what we do.” A highlight for many attendees is The Unconformity Art Trail, which reveals the depth of creativity
