Clubs Tasmania
efforts of dedicated volunteers.
Lastly, we had the pleasure of visiting the Mowbray Sports and Recreation Hub – we were absolutely blown away by the vision and progress unfolding at this exciting new facility.
From improving facilities to boosting membership, and supporting juniors to planning future events, the energy and pride within these clubs is nothing short of inspiring. Clubs Tasmania is committed to supporting our regional communities, advocating for their needs, and helping clubs thrive. Also last month, Clubs Tasmania continued its commitment to educating and supporting the state’s vibrant community club network by running a series of highly valuable workshops across the state.
Once complete, the Hub will be nothing short of a game-changer for indoor and community sport across Northern Tasmania. Boasting a mix of modern indoor and outdoor courts, state-of-the-art amenities, and thoughtfully designed community spaces, the facility is set to become a vibrant gathering place for local clubs, players, and a wide range of sporting codes.
The sessions included the ever- popular Sports Taping Workshop, which once again attracted strong attendance. Designed to give volunteers and emerging sports trainers practical skills in injury prevention and support, the workshop proved a hit with participants eager to build confidence and capability on the field.
From basketball and netball, volleyball to futsal and community events, this multi-use venue is designed with flexibility and inclusion in mind – ensuring that it meets the needs of both competitive sport and broader community use. We extend a big shout-out to all those behind the scenes – from planners and builders to club representatives and volunteers – who are working tirelessly to bring this ambitious project to life. Your efforts are laying the foundations for a stronger, more connected, and active community.
Also on offer was the Mastering Nutrition in Sports presentation, which focused on helping clubs and coaches understand the vital role of nutrition in athletic performance and recovery. The session provided up-to-date insights and practical advice, making it easy for community clubs to implement best practices in their own environments. These workshops form part of Clubs Tasmania’s broader strategy to empower clubs with the tools, training, and knowledge they need to grow and thrive.
