2019 DALWORTH Scholarship Winner Mary Elizabeth Woodward Studying in Japan
I knew at the start of my college education that I wanted to experience learning and living in another country. It became a dream of mine that I was determined to achieve. From that moment on I raced towards my goal head on by planning out my semester schedules for the next three years, working hard to maintain good grades and have multiple professors who I could get a recommendation letter from; however, you can only plan so much.The biggest hurdle is the cost it takes to study abroad.There is the expensive plane ticket, room and board, and money needed for food and transportation all on top of the money already being paid for tuition.That’s why when I received the DALWORTH 2019 scholarship , I was ecstatic and I still am. It helped me to be able to experience something that I will never forget. I have met so many people from all over the world, been able to learn about another culture firsthand, study subjects that are different from the traditional American university system, see so many beautiful things.Thanks to the DALWORTH scholarship I’ve been able to experience something amazing.
