say anything?" I can imagine that is the way the Lord feels about us sometimes. He wants us to come boldly to His throne of grace to find mercy. Tell Him what your needs are. He understands and has the ability to do something about them. At this Christmas season, I trust you will turn your thoughts toward the Throne of Grace, thinking about Christ who is available there. It is His holy purpose to meet your needs, individually and personally bringing help to you in the time of need. Pardon Assured for Us We hear such blessed verses as, "Unto you is born in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord" and "Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins." Yet, I am sure that there are many who cel ebrate Christmas who have little conception of what these Scrip tures really mean. It is somewhat like the word, peace. The familiar phrase, "Peace on earth good will toward men" is often recited. Yet somehow we shun thinking of the necessity of the death of Christ to save us from eternal doom as the price of that peace. Bethlehem should really make us think of God coming to our rescue. The Bible tells us, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their sal vation perfect through sufferings"

When we go to a doctor we like to be confident of his record of success. One physician of whom I have heard diagnosed his patient who then asked, “What are my chances, Doctor?" The reply was less than encouraging, “Well, your chances are 100 per cent. Nine out of ten die of the disease you have and the last nine of my patients all died!" Those percentages are not too helpful to consider. When you come to Christ, He is not just 99 44/100 per cent successful. There is no margin of error. It is always complete success. He is able to meet your needs in life as well as in death. When by faith you have received Him as Savior, He will meet your needs eternally. He has amply demonstrated His abil ity. The wonderful part of it is that Christ actually desires to do all of this for us (vs. 16). We can ap proach Him boldly and in confi dent assurance. Today there is quite a clamor for free-speech platforms. As believers this is really the Chris tian's "free-speech platform." We can come at any time without any previous appointment. He wants to dispense to us that which alone can fulfill our needs. He purposes to empower us for a ministry to others. Do you ever read the Peanuts cartoons? One I remember was where Lucy was in her booth ad vertising psychiatric help for only five cents. Snoopy came by and sat up on the stool. Being a dog, he does not speak. But he sat there for a while and then finally left. The comment under the next pic ture was Lucy decrying, "What can you do when the patient does not
