(Hebrews 2:9 and 10). Only Cod could make our salvation possible. As a matter of fact, He is the only One who would want to. Why would the God of heaven, in all of His greatness, power and holiness, want to love us and bring us back into His fellowship? Man is by na ture both proud and rebellious. He seems to delight in going his own way, cursing the name of the Lord. Only a God of grace would pos sibly desire to see us saved. You see, the Lord looks at us according to our potential. He wants us to be with Him and to possess His nature in glory (Philippians 2:5-11). At Christmastime there is con siderable publicity given to help ing children. Many times families adopt them into their homes so that they may know love and con sideration. It may be that they en ter a real home for the first time at Christmas. I know of one family which has adopted several retarded children. They feel they deserve special love and devotion. This re minds me of the heart of God. Here are parents who want chil dren on whom they can shower their love and gain their ready re sponse. The Lord wants us to be in fellowship with Him. Since we are made of flesh and blood (He brews 2:14) it was necessary for Christ to partake of the same that He might demonstrate that there could be life after death. For this reason, He came to destroy once and for all, him who controls the empire of death. Man is in bon dage. It looked like the forces of evil might possibly win up to the time of the cross. It would be a sad world if death were the only prospect after life. Have you ever gone to a football
