as was promised in Scripture? In the Word of God, first of all, we have promises of being raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:51-58; IThessalonians4:13-18).This would not have been possible if Christ had not come into this world to die as a man and then come forth from the grave victorious over death. His promise, “Because I live, ye shall live also." This gives us the assurance of having the same kind of life Christ did when He came forth from His grave. This certainly makes the future very real. “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits Page 40
of them that slept" (I Corinthians 15:20). Christ is the first One who came forth. Since by man came death so by man came also resur rection from the dead. As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Adam and Christ stand as the two heads of humanity. The first man leads to hopelessness and misery while Christ delivers us from all this, giving the promise of the resurrection. The Bible tells us that the ones who are living who believe in Christ will be changed when the Rapture occurs. Those who have died will be given a new
