fathers becauses of their appear ance. In that day, we are going to bear a resemblance to our Lord Jesus Christ. We will be fitted to the endless life in our new perma nent home. While fish are made to inhabit the water, birds the air and animals the land, we will be fitted for a celestial existence. The Lord is going to make it possible for us to live in His very presence. Some want to know if it will be a body that we can recognize. Verse 41 indicates that it will. When the Lord rose from the grave He was certainly recognized. Mary real ized who it was even by His voice at the tomb. There are no two leaves alike; no two snowflakes alike; no two fingerprints alike and on through every aspect of nature. While we are going to be fash ioned like His body yet it will be different so that we will be recog nizable. It will be a spiritual body, too. This means that it is energized by the Holy Spirit. Thus we will find the perpetual "Fountain of Youth." There will be no aging. Will that not be wonderful? It is a tremen dous prospect. Christ said that His body was not just a spirit. He fur ther explained, "A spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have." It will be a body of power (vs. 43). While no one fully knows what these bodies may be like, we can be assured that they will not have the same limitations as to time and space such as we expe rience now. Think of having un limited privileges to explore the entire universe. Perhaps somebody today is dis couraged with things as they are. Christmas ought to be a time where we think again of the great assured Page 41
body. In this way, together with them, we may enter into this won derful kingdom promised by the Lord. Consider the resurrection body which we are promised. It will be like Christ's body (I Corinthians 15:36). We note that it will be a body that is fitted to the life of an entire future with the Lord (vss. 47 and 49). The first man is of the earth, earthy, it says. John tells us that we shall be like Him. Most of us have a very striking resemblance to our parents now. By looking at children you can sometimes place them with the proper mothers and
