ADVANCING OUR MISSION
Dear Friends,
At Albertina Kerr, we center our work on the people we support. That means listening, supporting choice, and making sure each person has the opportunity to live the life they choose. You can see this commitment across our services, which are personalized and focused on each person’s needs, strengths, and goals. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live in neighborhood homes with 24-hour support, participate in Inclusive Day Services, and find and maintain employment with individualized support. Youth with complex needs receive specialized trauma-informed residential care. Children and teens experiencing mental health crises receive trauma-informed stabilization through our Crisis Psychiatric Care for Youth program. This program also includes support for families.
This year, we strengthened how we respond to the complex needs of youth. Our Dual Diagnosis Pilot Program, with generous seed funding from the Oregon Health Authority, integrates our expertise in I/DD and mental health to deliver more coordinated, person-centered, wrap-around mental health care for youth. We also celebrated graduates from our Project SEARCH program at Nike World Headquarters. Over nine months, they built skills, gained confidence, and developed valuable workplace experience. One graduate shared, “Any fears I have about not being good enough are unfounded. I am more than skilled enough to be an important component of any workplace.” That confidence reflects what opportunity can make possible. Advocacy across Oregon helped secure increased state investment in key I/DD services, including group homes, Day Support Activities, and supported employment. None of this would be possible without you! With your support, people are building lives filled with dignity, connection, and choice. Thank you for helping create communities where everyone belongs . With gratitude,
