Davis Welcome Packet_2024-25_v2

Dear New and Returning Students,

Welcome to Davis College!

Davis College has been training men and women for gospel ministry for more than 120 years. Hundreds of Davis College alumni serve in dozens of countries around the world and countless towns and cities right here in the USA. Davis College alumni are youth leaders, missionaries, evangelists, educators, pastors, worship leaders, and biblical counselors. We are honored that you have chosen Davis College to be your partner in ministry preparation. As you walk around this beautiful campus, begin to pray and to dream about what God has in store for you in ministry. As you take classes, interact with your professors, build relationships with staff and other students, God will expand your vision for ministry. As you serve Him on campus, and as you seek Him during chapel time, God will begin to pour His plan into your heart. This next year Davis will challenge you for a lifetime of service. It will not only grow your relationship with God but deepen your understanding of who He is though His Word. The place is the same. The experience is the same. But the preparation will challenge you in different ways. Two schools with the same mission and the same goal are partnering to prepare you for a lifetime of service. Let me encourage you. Do not be intimidated by the challenges before you. Rather, be ignited by the fire that God has placed within you. Build your faith. Banish doubts and fears. Keep your focus on Jesus, the living Jesus, who walks beside you and talks to you each day. Don’t compare yourself to someone else. God has a special plan for you! Invest your life selflessly in the lives of others. Be a friendly person. Smile until your face hurts! Be a blessing all over campus.

You are welcome to come to the Davis Administration Center. Just ask for “Doug,” and some kind person will point the way. I’m here to serve you. I’m here to listen. I’m here to help.

Finally, put Jesus first and live for Him each day. In practical terms, this means lining up your life with His life every day. One day and then the next day. Don’t get ahead of Jesus. Remember, you’re a follower. Your thoughts, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your plans, your every need... lay them at His feet. When you live this way each day, day after day, two years will pass, and you will find yourself older, wiser, stronger, more mature, better prepared, and in the center of God’s will.

Blessings,

D. Alan Blanc President, Davis College
