STEER, Inc. is a non-denominational Christian global missionary support organization that currently supports 86 member mission organizations. Founded in 1957, STEER has distributed over 37 million dollars to help fulfill Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). Jerrod currently serves on the board of STEER and Linda served on the board for over 20 years. STEER enables ranchers to fund missionaries by running cows owned by STEER in
their herd with the income from the calves going to the missionary of the rancher’s choice. Proceeds from a few of the bulls in the sale will go to fund missionaries through STEER, Inc.
Long-time administrator of STEER Inc., Larue Goetz, stopped by to inspect the bulls. At 91, Larue still likes to get out and see the livestock. Our relationship with Larue goes back many years while he served as Executive Director of STEER, Inc. from 1972 to 1998.
Change and uncertainty, and sometimes chaos, have reigned over the past few years. I don’t need to expound on that - we have all lived through it. Sometimes it seems that it has never been more unclear what is true and what is untrue. But there is truth. God’s Word is truth communicated. And Jesus Christ is truth personified. In the pages of the Bible we find that there is a Creator whose king- dom will never be shaken. And we find that there is a Savior who died for our sins and longs to have a relationship with us. It is so easy to get caught up in the responsibilities and activities and even the chaos of this world. If we accom- plish much on this earth but miss Jesus Christ in our time here, we have missed everything. Jesus is the one thing - the only thing - that we can really ever count on to be true. In honor of Dad’s memory and in recognition of his love for Salers cattle, MacDonald Ranches is donating this heifer calf, selected from some of the best genetics our breeding program has to offer. All proceeds from her sale will be donated to the Memorial Fund. It is our intention to continue to donate a heifer to the fund on an annual basis in order to carry on Dad’s legacy and help to strength- en the future of the Salers breed.
