Love Rescue Animals? Here’s How You Can Help Local Critters!
Support Local Animals With These 3 Organizations!
Brando and Rose — both Stray Network alums!
We love rescue pets at Gilbert Physical Therapy! Many of our staff members have rescued animals, so in honor of the dog days of summer, we’re highlighting three local animal organizations. Whether you donate your time or money or choose to foster or adopt, there are many ways you can impact the lives of local animals today. Castaway Critters James Hueholt was 37 years old when he died in 1994, but his lifelong mission to rescue and care for animals continues to save lives to this day. Castaway Critters was created in Hueholt’s honor, and since its inception in 2001, Castaway Critters has helped more than 11,000 animals. The organization specializes in finding foster homes and veterinary care for abused, neglected, and stray animals. Relying on a network of foster families within six Pennsylvania counties, Castaway Critters specializes in unique and “problem” cases. The group also offers adoptions through its foster network. them new homes. Speranza is located on a 17-acre farm in Mechanicsburg. The nonprofit relies solely on donations and volunteer effort, and those who want to help can do so in multiple ways: Ask for donations in honor of your birthday or wedding, become a sponsor, or hold an item drive to collect toys, food, and other materials. Of course, you can also find your new pet at Speranza. Visit SperanzaRescue.org to learn more. Stray Network Rescue Like Castaway Critters, Stray Network Rescue focuses its efforts on finding foster homes and permanent placements for abandoned or abused animals. However, the organization emphasizes helping moms and puppies find their forever homes and grow during such a vital time in their lives. Organized and operating with a team of volunteers, Stray Network Rescue partners with organizations across the U.S. to rescue and re-home animals across Pennsylvania.
