THE TEAM AT CITY PLUMBING BALLYMOUNT MAY BE OPERATING UNDER DIFFERENT COLOURS, BUT CONTINUES TO OFFER GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THE REBRANDING… New name, same great service

B allymount. Now customers are welcomed by a brand- new neon sign and notice that the traditional PTS red in the product racks has been replaced by the striking new City Plumbing yellow and blue. “The whole transition probably took about six to eight weeks as we had to remove the range, make room for new racking and get all the products displayed again in the self-service area and trade counter,” explained Regional Operations Manager Pat Kelly. “Plumbers and installers can pick and choose at the self-service area while the bigger items get dispatched through the warehouse. It has all been working really well.” Pat is also proud to say he has been with the same team during his entire journey. Branch Assistant Manager Graeme Tighe and Branch

Manager Gavin Rankin had worked together at another company and later joined Regional Sales Representative Alan Ray in 2008, when PTS first opened in Ireland. The three musketeers started in the warehouse and moved up the ranks. “We have built an amazing team at Ballymount,” Gavin commented. “We are all on the same wavelength as how to look after our customers and the banter at the trade counter is just great.” Pat Kelly was all praise when talking about the team, “Experienced staff are so hard to come across in this industry; these guys have done all the heavy lifting since 2008 and I am extremely grateful that they are still here.” COMMUNICATION IS KEY A diversified and well-stocked range of products is what installers

like to find, but Pat also highlighted the importance of developing long- term relationships with customers and anticipating their needs. “Service is the biggest selling point at the company. Price is important, but great customer service means getting the products they need in the van and whenever they need it.” Pat said it is also important to have the end-user in mind. “We provide products for jobs that are carried out in people’s homes, so it is crucial to avoid disruption as much as possible,” he explained. “The plumbers are given a certain date and time to be there to do an install and we must get their order right and on time; we also need to guarantee continuity of supply. Communication is key, and we have to work closely with the customers to forecast product sourcing and timely deliveries.”
