THE DELTA BASIC AND MACRO PRESSURE BOOSTER SYSTEMS FROM KSB START AUTOMATICALLY AND ARE FULLY WRAS APPROVED… Pressure boost on demand

C &F Quadrant is KSB’s distributor for building services applications in Northern Ireland. KSB offers a broad portfolio of efficient pumps, valves and systems, and these booster sets are aimed at residential and commercial building services markets. DELTA BASIC The Delta Basic is a fully automatic WRAS-approved pressure booster system with two to three (MVP) or four (SVP) vertical high-pressure pumps in two variable speed versions. The speed versions ensure variable speed control of each pump by motor-mounted frequency inverter for asynchronous IE3 motors (MVP) or by a PumpDrive variable speed system and KSB SuPremE IE5 motors (SVP), respectively, providing full control to ensure the required supply pressure. It is also equipped with a central fuse box. As demand increases or decreases, pumps are started and stopped automatically. As soon as the demand increases again after one pump has been stopped, another pump is started up. The stand-by pump is also included in the alternating cycle. The standard setting ensures the pressure booster system starts automatically according to demand. The use of variable

speed pumps reduces wear as well as the frequency of the pump starts in parallel operation. If demand drops towards 0, the pressure booster system slowly runs down to the stop point. The control system defines each of the pumps as a standby pump in alternation, which prevents stagnation of water in any of the pumps. The standby pump function can be disabled via a parameter in the control system. The pressure booster system is designed with integrated dry-running protection. The electrical connection cabinet contains digital contacts for a lack-of-water display. DELTA MACRO This fully automatic WRAS-approved package pressure booster system features two to six (VC/SVP) vertical high-pressure pumps and is available in cascade-controlled and two variable speed designs. Two to six pumps are controlled and monitored by a microprocessor control unit (KSB Booster Command Pro Plus). Each pump is operated on a frequency inverter and controlled by the control unit to ensure a constant discharge pressure. As the demand increases or decreases, pumps are started and stopped

automatically. As soon as the demand increases again after one pump has been stopped, another pump is started up. When the last pump has been stopped and the demand increases again, the next pump in line is started up on a frequency inverter. The stand-by pump is also included in the alternating cycle. The standard setting is for the pressure booster system to start automatically and by demand. If a pump has not been in operation for 24 hours, a test run is initiated. During commissioning and after every power failure, the pressure booster system fills the piping system slowly to prevent any damage to the piping by surge pressure. The control panel has a fire alarm contact which can be used to operate the set at full throttle in case of a fire with the fire sprinklers being activated.
