Central Washington University Board of Trustees October 16, 2025 Action – Academic Year 2026-2027 Tuition Increase Approval
Washington State law limits the amount that CWU is allowed to increase resident undergraduate tuition to the 14-year average of wage inflation, which is currently 3.3 percent. This Board has discretion on setting other tuition rates (non-resident undergraduate, resident, and non-resident graduate). We recommend a 3.3 percent increase for resident undergraduate tuition and up to a 5 percent increase for all other tuition types (non-resident undergraduate, resident, and non-resident graduate) for academic year 2026-2027.

We recommend the following motion:
The Board of Trustees of Central Washington University hereby approves a 3.3 percent increase for resident undergraduate tuition and up to a 5 percent increase for all other categories (non- resident undergraduate, resident, and non-resident graduate) for academic year 2026-2027.
