Our Workforce
Diversity Matters At V., diversity and inclusivity are fundamental to our values as an organisation. They are crucial pillars for enhancing innovation and collaboration. Our aim is to attract and retain a diverse talent pool and to foster a culture of equality and inclusivity across all levels, enabling our colleagues to realise their full potential without concerns about bias related to age, ethnicity, religion, gender, or socio-economic status. By creating a diverse and inclusive environment, we benefit from a wider range of perspectives and expertise, enhancing our problem-solving capabilities and driving creativity. Additionally, diversity broadens our seafarer pool, ensuring access to the best talent from various backgrounds, which ultimately strengthens our competitive edge. We treat our workforce with equal respect and dignity across all business operations. According to a study by the IMO and WISTA, women account for only 29% of the overall workforce in the maritime industry and 20% of the workforce of national maritime authorities in member states. We are proud to address these issues: 51% of our workforce are women, and 24% of senior management positions are held by women.
Human and Worker Rights Our approach to worker rights prioritises fair treatment, respect, and dignity for all personnel. We actively engage with our workforce through regular feedback mechanisms and open communication channels to address any concerns and continuously improve working conditions. Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration, we build strong relationships with our colleagues based on transparency and mutual respect. We fully adhere to the Maritime Labour Convention (2006) for all vessels under our management and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. V. supports internationally recognised human rights standards, such as those set out in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Bill of Human Rights. We regularly assess our supply chain and engage with suppliers, contractors, and other business partners to offer guidance where possible. We expect stakeholders in our supply chain to respect human rights and adhere to international regulations where applicable.
