Case Studies: Community Engagement Prioritising Wellbeing

We have implemented a range of initiatives to support our colleagues’ health and happiness, both at sea and onshore. In 2023, we introduced several campaigns focused on nutrition and wellbeing, including vessel challenges to create balanced menus, webinars on healthy eating and stress management, weekly wellbeing tips, and Healthy Corners in our offices with fruits and healthy snacks. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to improving the quality of life, productivity, and satisfaction of our seafarers and onshore colleagues. Voyage Loyalty In 2023, V. proudly launched Voyage Loyalty, a tailored loyalty and rewards programme for our seafarers. This initiative aims to enhance the value and benefits for seafarers and their families throughout their maritime careers. Using the V. Crew app, seafarers can join Voyage Loyalty and earn SeaStars (points) by completing various activities. These points can be exchanged for a range of rewards. The programme incentivises activities that promote professional development, career growth, and competence at sea. In 2024, we plan to expand the roster of earning activities to include initiatives related to safety culture and healthy eating. Voyage Loyalty members also enjoy exclusive benefits from our partner organisations, designed to reduce barriers to essential services and products. These benefits support seafarers in leading happy and sustainable lives outside of work, offering access to daily essentials, investment opportunities, and special experiences with loved ones. A key element of Voyage Loyalty is fostering a community where seafarers and their families can connect. The programme’s engaging and informal nature creates a social, inclusive, and enjoyable environment, bridging gaps of gender, nationality, and rank. The pilot launch in the Philippines has been a great success, with over 60% of eligible seafarers becoming members. Building on this success, we will expand Voyage Loyalty throughout 2024, offering more seafarers the opportunity to participate, introducing new earning activities, and delivering even greater value to our members.
