EVENTS DELHI TOBACCO MUSEUM & HERITAGE CENTRE

Annual Indoor Yard Sale MAY 17 – 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join us to hunt through a vast selection of goods at our annual indoor yard sale in support of the museum! Also be sure to visit the Delhi & District Horticultural Society Annual Plant and Bake sale hosted on the museum grounds. The museum will be taking donations two weeks prior to the event.

Multicultural Program: Volunteer Orientation Day JAN 18 – 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Multicultural Food Fair JUN 7 – 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Norfolk County celebrates its cultural diversity with style! Join us and our friends at the Multicultural Heritage Association of Norfolk for a day of food, music and wonderful cultural displays. Admission by donation.

School programming has been an important part of the museum for decades and we’re looking for volunteers to help us prep and deliver the quality multicultural activities the museum is known for. Volunteers will learn to make Belgian Lukken cookies, paint Ukrainian eggs, stitch Hungarian embroidery, and discover new traditions the museum plans to do

with the students of Norfolk County. Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration required.

Robyn Michaud: Jingle Dancing & Indigenous Culture SEP 27 – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm The Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre welcomes Professor Robyn Michaud to the museum as she talks about the rich heritage of Indigenous people in Canada. Robyn, who grew up in Tillsonburg, is a member of the Anishnaabe, Bear Clan from Sagamok Anishnawbek. Robyn teaches at Conestoga College and the University of Western Ontario, where she is working towards her Doctorate in Education. Robyn will be talking about diversity within Indigenous culture and the power of dance as an expression of heritage and identity. $10 per person. Pre-registration required.

Ukrainian Perogy Bee FEB 22 – 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

What could be better on a cold winter day than making and eating fluffy, melt in your mouth perogies? Join us at the museum and learn how to make this traditional Ukrainian delicacy. Participants will make a dozen potato and cheese perogies to take home, and sample many different flavours as they roll, cut, and stuff these little bites of potato perfection. All materials will be

provided. Please bring a container to take home your culinary creations. $30 per person. Pre-registration required.

Light Up the Season NOV 29 – 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm The Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre is pleased to partner with the Delhi BIA in hosting "Light Up the Season". Come see the museum in all its Christmas grandeur. Sip a cup of hot cocoa and try your hand at our seasonal scavenger hunt, then take a picture with olde St. Nick and tell him all your holiday wishes. Admission by donation.
