Janet Davis Cleaners - February 2024

As winter sets in, we all need warm and cozy clothes to stay comfortable. However, taking care of these clothes can be tricky. That's where we come in as your trusted dry cleaner. We understand that every winter coat has different care requirements, and we deal with all kinds of winter wear daily. So, as the weather gets colder and we bundle up more, we want to provide a simple guide to help you care for your winter outerwear, no matter what type it is. WOOL OVERCOATS Wool overcoats can be beautiful and elegant, but they need special care to keep them looking great. That's why we always advise clients to check the tags on wool coats for care instructions before they buy them; that way, they understand how to clean them from the start. If the label says you can wash your wool coat at home, just be careful not to expose it to very hot temperatures, as this can cause it to shrink. A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO CARING FOR YOUR COATS

WINTER SKI COATS Many winter ski coats and children's coats are designed for home washing. But of course, before doing that, you should check the label to see if it's safe to wash and dry them at home. Some coats are made with water-repelling materials and might have plastic parts — like zippers — that can be damaged by washing or drying. Even if the coat is safe to wash at home, it's a good idea to have it professionally dry cleaned every once in a while to keep it in good shape. PEA COATS AND OVERCOATS Dry-clean-only pea coats and overcoats should be treated like sweaters. Wear them until they're visibly dirty, then bring them in for cleaning. But don't wait too long because coats can reach a point of no return — where they can no longer be cleaned to look like new. DOWN COATS When it comes to washing down coats, it's essential to read the care label carefully. Some coats are suitable for home washing, especially if they have removable

embellishments and hoods. Just make sure to use a warm but not hot setting to avoid damaging the delicate feathers, which will help maintain the coat's fluffiness and warmth. And finally, if you're ever unsure, it's always best to trust us with your coats to preserve their quality and keep you warm in style! We put out a request last year asking you to return hangers and were amazed by your response! So many people returned hangers, but we still need more as the shortage continues. Thank you to all who have returned hangers recently! Please, keep up the good work! Thanks for Returning Them! THE HANGER SHORTAGE CONTINUES
