Due to changes in hormones, pregnant women are more likely to develop gingivitis. When left untreated, gingivitis is linked to poor pregnancy outcomes like low birth weight. Your Delta Dental plan gives you access to free preventive dental care with in-network providers. Be sure to let your dentist know that you are pregnant so they can provide proper care. Note: Members with high-risk health conditions may receive a total of four cleanings, to include periodontal maintenance procedures, in any calendar year. This includes pregnant women with periodontal disease.
