OUR STORY In 2020, Chris McCasland & Michael Opalski created City Bonfires ® , the world’s first portable
fire pit that’s easy to light and extinguish. Like many people, their careers were affected by
the pandemic. With time on their hands, they spent a great deal of time outdoors, with their families, making bonfires, making s’mores and roasting hotdogs. They quickly learned that much of their time was spent keeping their kids away from the flames instead of enjoying the outdoor family time. Needing a safer way to build a fire, Chris and Michael invented the City Bonfire ® in Chris’ garage. At City Bonfires ® , the mission is to make bonfires easy, accessible, fun and better for the world. As pioneers in the portable bonfire space, Chris and Michael believe bonfire nights are meant for making special memories. With City Bonfires ® , that’s easy every time. They are eco-friendly, reusable, recyclable and made in the USA. City Bonfires ® has sold over 1 million units to date. City Bonfires ® have also become an essential emergency kit item. In February 2022, the company donated City Bonfires ® to aid in the Texas power crisis and matched every donation made on their site.
