Harrell’s Employee Handbook, September 2023
3. During company travel, employees must sometimes attend a company-sponsored dinner or event. In this situation, the employee is considered on the clock until they return to their hotel room. Any personal activity the employee engages in after a work event is not compensable. 4. If an employee does not attend a company-sponsored dinner or event after the workday is over, for purposes of tracking time, the workday ends when the employee leaves the office. 5. Travel hours are “hours worked” to calculate overtime, and employees will be paid all applicable overtime. WORKWEEK AND HOURS OF WORK Harrell’s standard workweek begins Monday at midnight and ends Sunday at 11:59 p.m. The regular schedule for full-time employees is 40 hours each workweek. The days may or may not be consecutive. Harrell’s reserves the right to change the workweek without notice and in writing. Regular and overtime hours of work are established by each employee’s supervisor. These may be changed occasionally to meet business needs.
