Harrell’s Employee Handbook, September 2023
Gifts Other than the EOP gift programs, no gifts are allowed to be purchased for customers. Such gifts include: • Gift Cards. • Tickets to events (i.e., sporting events, concerts, etc.) where a Harrell’s employee is not present. • Shirts, jackets, and other apparel. Exceptions will need prior written (i.e., email) approval from the President or a member of the Senior Executive Team. Approval/Authorization Process Employees must follow the Corporate Credit Card Policy, which outlines the use of company-issued credit cards. That policy states that the employee’s manager must approve all expenses. No employee is authorized to approve their own, a peer’s, or a manager’s travel expense report. The manager is responsible for verifying both business purposes and policy compliance. COMPANY BULLETIN BOARDS Harrell's maintains bulletin boards throughout each location to provide employees with official notices, including wage and hour laws, policy changes, etc. At times, the Company may also post information of general interest to the employees on the bulletin board. Employees should periodically check out the bulletin boards at their respective sites. Items posted on or removed from the bulletin board require management’s approval. COMPANY TRAINING Every employee is expected to develop and maintain job knowledge and a skill level to perform assigned duties safely and competently. In addition to on-the-job training, Harrell’s may, from time to time, provide training courses and sessions that employees may be required to attend depending on their work responsibilities. Employees must strictly follow the training provided during employment. If an employee needs to be entirely sure how any aspect of the job is to be done correctly and safely, it is their responsibility to ask their supervisor. Retaliation against any employee for raising issues regarding safety or seeking training to perform their duties safely is not tolerated. Employees who feel they are being retaliated against for these reasons should immediately report this to Human Resources. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST Harrell's is concerned with conflicts of interest that create actual or potential job-related concerns, especially in confidentiality, customer relations, safety, security, and morale. Any actual or potential conflict of interest between an employee of the company and that of a competitor, supplier, distributor, or contractor to the company must be promptly disclosed by the employee to Human Resources. If an actual or potential conflict of interest is determined, the Company will take any steps necessary to reduce or eliminate this conflict. If the conflict cannot be reduced or eliminated to the degree required by the company, the employee will be subject to transfer or possible termination.
