Harrell’s Employee Handbook, September 2023
employee is receiving a review. Salary adjustments are considered on a purely individual basis and are made at management’s sole discretion. Employees must understand that a positive job performance review does not guarantee a pay raise or continued employment. Special reviews will be considered for outstanding performance and service, for promotions, or for poor performance, which requires immediate review and correction or when management believes a special review is warranted. PERSONAL APPEARANCE Harrell’s reserves the sole right to determine if employee attire is inappropriate or not in good taste. Employees who have questions regarding appropriate dress and attire should direct them to their supervisor in advance to avoid conflicts and potential problems. Depending on the severity of the violation, an employee inappropriately dressed when they arrive for work may be considered unsuitable for commencing work and sent home. The employee may be asked to return to work later on the same day in proper attire that conforms to the Company's standards. Employees may also be disciplined if they repeatedly appear inappropriately dressed at work. Management may make exceptions for special occasions when employees will be notified in advance. Employees needing clarification on what is appropriate should check with their manager or supervisor. Reasonable Accommodations of Religious Beliefs. Harrell’s recognizes the importance of individually held religious beliefs to a person within its workforce. Harrell’s will reasonably accommodate an employee’s religious beliefs regarding workplace attire unless the accommodation creates an undue hardship. Accommodation of religious beliefs in terms of attire may be difficult in light of safety issues for employees. Those requesting a workplace attire accommodation based on religious beliefs should be referred to the Human Resources Department. PERSONAL DATA CHANGES Employees must provide the Company with their current mailing address and telephone number. Employees must also inform the Company of any marital or tax withholding status changes. Changes to an employee’s mailing address, primary contact telephone number, and any change in emergency contacts can be made using the Company’s payroll provider’s website. Employees may speak with their supervisor or Human Resources regarding any other personal related changes or requests such as a change in tax withholding status, 401K, marital status, etc. Please get in touch with Human Resources if assistance is needed. PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS Harrell’s makes substantial efforts to avoid any risk of compromising its professional objectivity and its reputation. Therefore, it is inappropriate for employees to have a personal relationship beyond friendship with those subject to their supervision or with whom they have a reporting relationship. If any employee has or develops a personal relationship beyond friendship with any employee or any outside party with whom they have dealings as a representative of Harrell’s (this includes clients, contractors, partners, and vendors), the employee must immediately notify their supervisor and the Human Resources Department in writing.
