Harrell's Employee Handbook

Harrell’s Employee Handbook, September 2023

Personal Relationships. Personal relationships with coworkers should not affect the working environment. • Employees are strictly prohibited from engaging in physical contact that would be deemed inappropriate by a reasonable person while anywhere on company premises at any time. Supervisors, Managers, and Executives. • Supervisors, managers, executives, or anyone else in sensitive or influential positions must immediately disclose the existence of any relationship with another coworker that has progressed beyond a platonic friendship. Disclosure should be made to the immediate supervisor or Human Resources. • Where problems or potential risks are identified, the Company may, at its discretion, work with the parties involved to consider options for resolving the problem. The initial solution may be to ensure that the parties involved no longer work together on matters where one can influence or take action for the other. Matters such as hiring, firing, promotions, performance management, compensation decisions, financial transactions, etc., are examples of situations that may require the reallocation of duties to avoid any actual or perceived reward or disadvantage. Resolution. If Harrell’s determines that the personal relationship will or has a reasonable likelihood of affecting the work environment, employees, or business relationship with the client, vendor, etc., Harrell’s may take action it deems appropriate to eliminate the actual or potential conflict. For example: • In some cases, other measures, such as transfer to other positions or departments, may be necessary. • Refusal of reasonable alternative positions, if available, will be deemed a voluntary resignation. • Continued failure to work with the Company to resolve such a situation in a mutually agreeable fashion may ultimately be deemed insubordination and, therefore, serve as cause for immediate termination. POSTING OF JOB OPENINGS Harrell's makes reasonable efforts to hire and promote qualified employees from within. It is also important for the Company to hire from the outside when the best employee is available. New job openings will be posted via email and on the Company’s website. All candidates must go through the Company’s Applicant Tracking System for accurate tracking and reporting purposes. PROMOTIONS The Company’s policy is to promote from within the Company only when the most qualified candidate is available. Promotions are made on an equal opportunity basis according to the performance assessment results and an analysis of the education, experience, knowledge, personality, and skills required for the available position. All employees promoted into new job positions will undergo a 90-day introductory period for the new job position. Unlike new hires, however, they will continue to receive company benefits.
