The power of sponsorship Shelley Keach Senior Development Manager Each year, sponsorship from our community empowers our boys to perform at their best and pursue their goals, ensuring they gain the most from their involvement in co-curricular programmes. In 2025, 47 sponsors supported College’s junior and senior drama performances, along with both winter and summer sports programmes.
Rugby and rowing remain our flagship sports and continue to attract significant sponsorship. Year on year, we receive incredible support from our lead rugby sponsor, Archibalds, including a sponsored vehicle for the Director of Sport. The generosity does not stop there, with the basketball and drama programmes also benefitting. PAK’nSAVE once again showed exceptional generosity by supporting the rowing programme – gifting and landscaping a boat shed at Twizel, one of three donated, alongside Rangi Ruru Girls’ School and the University of Otago. The College shed provides secure, year-round storage for our boats and plays a vital role in supporting the rowing programme. Additional investment in state-of- the-art technology and resources from PAK’nSAVE has also been instrumental in strengthening the programme and helping position College among the top echelon of competitive rowing schools. I must also acknowledge the important relationship with Avon City Ford, which annually provides our rowing programme with two Ford trucks to utilise for trips to and from Twizel throughout the season. In 2025, sponsors provided significant support to tennis, cricket, rowing, basketball, football, rugby, hockey, and clay target shooting – enabling a number of outstanding sporting achievements – as well as the drama programme. Christ’s College continues to expand the public profile of our sponsors as valued business partners. Sponsors are invited to participate in College’s Business Banter speaker series, attend a range of College social functions, and share their brands through our growing social media platforms. Sponsorships create meaningful connections within our community while delivering tangible benefits for our boys and strengthening the relationships that support our programmes.
We are deeply grateful for this outstanding level of support.
