Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology Catalog: 1978-1980

psychology (including the 9 hours on the masters level) and/ or up to 15 hours of theology and Bible applicable to Rosemead' s program (including the 9 hours on the masters level) from an accredited graduate school or theological seminary. Prac ticum credit in the amount equal to one Rosemead practicum of 3 hours may be transferred with the permission of the Director of Clinical Training. These hours will be counted toward the 30 hour transfer maximum. Practicum transfer credit will be granted only when it is shown as practicum on an official graduate transcript. Rosemead will not evaluate non-traditional learning or non-transcripted work ex perience for academic or practicum credit. When students wish to use transfer credit for a required course in the Rosemead curriculum, it is their responsibility to provide documentation assuring the equiva lency of course content. Such documentation may include catalog descriptions, syl labi , and other supporting materials from the professor of record or department, as deemed necessary. STATUS IN THE PROGRAM FULL-TIME STUDENTS A student in active, full-time status must be registered each semester and carry a minimum of nine semester units. Internship and Dissertation (ABD) students are exempted from this requirement, as are those who have less than 9 hours left in their program. A normal course load is 12-15 hours. PART-TIME STUDENTS A student will not be admitted to a Rosemead graduate program on a part-time basis, i.e. with a course load of less than 9 hours. Extenuating circumstances, such as illness, may allow for reduction in course load and part-time status for continuing students only by approval of the Admissions and Academic Qualifications Commit tee and the Dean. INTERNSHIP AND DISSERTATION STUDENTS Students in Internship or Dissertation status must continue to register and pay the required fees each semester appropriate to their status (see Fee Schedule). Stu dents in Dissertation status who have completed their required units in dissertation research must register for 3 additional units each semester until the dissertation is completed. INACTIVE STATUS Inactive students are those who have requested and been granted a Leave of Absence from their program. A Leave of Absence may be granted upon Petition for Change of Status if there is deemed sufficient reason for interrupting the pro gram and intention to return to the program. Change of Status forms are available from the Registrar. A Leave of Absence must be renewed by Petition each semester and may not exceed two consecutive semesters. A Leave of Absence longer than one year will require withdrawal from the program and a Petition for Readmission if the student later wishes to request active status. The Committee responsible for processing Leave of Absence requests is the Admissions and Academic Qualifications Commit tee. Each Leave of Absence must receive the approval of the student's advisor and the Dean.
