“I’m just not one of those people who can keep a good thing to myself!” says Greg. “There are so many different positions and opportunities at Averitt. Why not share that with people – especially people you know, who would love to be part of the same team. It’s just a wonderful place to work, and I want others to know!” Before joining Averitt, Greg worked at a competing transportation company for 20 years, and one of the biggest differences he’s experienced at Averitt is our second-to-none culture of associate recognition. Having experienced Driver Appreciation Week celebrations this past September, Greg notes how special it is to be part of a team that appreciates associates like we do. “I tell a lot of people about the different ways Averitt recognizes us, and they are amazed,” says Greg. “Before I worked at Averitt, Driver Appreciation Week was something you really didn’t hear much about. Not many companies really celebrate it like we do. And the way Averitt truly honors their associates – things like giving away gifts and providing meals – that’s just impressive. And when I tell that to referrals, it really shows what our culture is like.” Beyond our annual Driver Appreciation Week celebrations, we love to recognize our teammates all year long through our R+ program, Red Thinkin’ Rewards, People Like You Referral Rewards, service and safety milestones, and other special ways like personal acknowledgments from executive leadership. “Even our CEO, GARY SASSER , recognizes us one-on-one through phone calls and other ways,” says Greg. “He actually takes the time to call new hires, and to congratulate us on our accomplishments.
